6 Easy Halloween Party Food Recipes To Die For

October 25, 2020 //  by susan1//  Leave a Comment

Producer Susan Nation takes us behind the scenes of Sloppy Jones and shares her recipes for some truly horrifying Halloween Party Food – to die for, literally.

Everything You’ll Need To Create This Entire Halloween Party Food Spread

You’ll need a sharp kitchen knife and serving dishes. Add props like skulls, scary masks, cobwebs, pumpkins and of course dramatic candle sticks to really dress up the table. Many of the ingredients you may already have at home as well!

Ingredients

  • 1 Package Spaghetti or Bucattini
  • Tomato sauce
  • 1 Package of Breakfast sausages
  • 1 Package of Hot Dogs
  • Salsa
  • Tortila chips
  • Taco shells
  • Black olives
  • 1 Package of string cheese
  • Almonds (3 halved or slices)
  • 2 slices of white Bread
  • a few slices of Pepperoni
  • Sundried tomatoes
  • 1 Red Bell Pepper
  • Bocconcini Cheese
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Frozen Cheese Pizza
  • Back Beans
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Guacamole (or mashed avocado)
  • Shredded nacho cheese blend or grated cheese

Dead Man’s Ribs and Guts Recipe

Who doesnt love fall-of-the-bone ribs? They also make great finger foods for entertaining. Ribs are super easy to make, all you need is time. I bake the ribs before adding any sauce, then when they are fully cooked, I brush on my favorite barbecue sauce.

Dead Man’s Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2 packages of baby back pork ribs – raw or pre-cooked
  • Seasoning: salt, pepper, spice rub
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Package of Spaghetti or Bucattini
  • Tomato Sauce
  • 2 breakfast sausages

Directions

Dead Man’s Ribs

  1. Generously season both sides with salt and pepper and your seasoning if raw and unseasoned.
  2. Put paper on your baking tray and lay both ribs down.
  3. Cover the ribs with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake the ribs at 350F for 2 hours if raw or heat for 30 minutes if pre-cooked and pre-seasoned or until they are fork tender.
  5. Slather the fully cooked ribs with more your favourite BBQ sauce then cook the ribs until the sauce is hot and starting to caramelize.

For the Guts

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to boil for your noodles and cook until tender.
  2. Cut breakfast sausages into bite sized pieces and add to the boiling water.
  3. Strain your pasta and sausages.
  4. Add your cut up sausages to tomato sauce and heat in a pan.
  5. Add sauce to the pasta and stir.

Plating

  1. Cool the ribs slightly and cut into individual pieces.
  2. Arrange the ribs in two rows down the platter biggest to smallest.
  3. Serve your pasta “guts” at the bottom of the ribs on the serving dish.
  4. Make it a Halloween center piece by adding a skull to the top of the serving platter to add an extra layer of spooky fun to the dish.
  5. Surprise guests with the dead mans ribs and guts!

Screaming Skull Pizza Recipe

This one is super easy to make and is also kid friendly. Pizza is always a win and realistically what’s a Halloween Party without one?

Ingredients

  • 1 cheeze pizza- I used a frozen one
  • 2 pieces of pepperoni
  • 4 pieces of sundried tomato
  • 2 small balls of bocconcini
  • 1 small black olive
  • Tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to the assinged temperature on the pizza box.
  2. Unwrap your cheese pizza and place on a baking sheet.
  3. Add pepperoni to the pizza to create eyes.
  4. Place the bocconcini cheese in the centre of the pepperoni to be the whites of the eye.
  5. Cut the black olive in half and use it as the pupils of the eye.
  6. Arrange the sundried tomatoes as the lips, give the face a wide open mouth.
  7. Fill the mouth with more pepperoni for the tongue.
  8. Bake in the oven (as directed on pizza box) until fully cooked.
  9. In the last coulple minutes add the tomato sauce to the mouth for some added gore and pop back into the over to finish.
  10. Cool and serve.

Spooky Witches’ Fingers Recipe

I decided to show how to do these witches’ fingers with both a meat and veggie option. Both are fast to assemble and take minimum effort.

For the meat option,

Ingredients

  • Package of sausages and/or hot dogs (we mixed two types to give some contrast)
  • Salsa
  • Almonds sliced in half or flaked, or pieces of red pepper
  • Tomato sauce or ketchup

Directions

  1. Cook your wieners in boiling water or on the grill (I made little cuts to look like knuckles).
  2. Spoon some sauce to the tips and press on the almonds as fingers.
  3. Arrange on a plate and serve.

For the veggie option,

Ingredients

  • Package string cheese
  • Red Bell pepper
  • Tomato Sauce or Salsa

Directions

  1. Open your string cheese and place on plate
  2. Slice the cheeze strings in half sideways and then lengthways
  3. Cute “finger nails” out of a bell pepper and attach with a small bit of sauce to the end of the string cheese.
  4. Add any additional decorations to the plate and serve.

Blood and Guts Nachos Recipe

Nachos are a crowd pleaser and I gave this dish a horrific twist by making it a scary face with blood and guts hanging out it’s mouth.

Ingredients

  • Taco shells
  • Tortila chips
  • Salsa
  • Back beans
  • Guacamole or smashed avocado
  • Shredded nacho cheese blend or grated cheese
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Black olives

Directions

  1. Place the flat taco shell on a plate.
  2. Add eyes using cherry tomato halves and halved black olives.
  3. Arrange tortilla shells around the top of the head to create some wild monster hair. Sprinkle with shredded nacho cheese blend.
  4. For the mouth use a stuffable taco shell and point the opening downwards, this is where the fun starts as you can n stuff with “blood and guts”.
  5. Add the salsa, back beans, guacamole and shredded nacho cheese blend.
  6. Serve your scary nacho face to your guests.

Mummy Cheeze Toast Recipe

This one is adorable and yummy. Plus two types of cheese? Yes please!

Ingredients

  • Sliced Bread
  • Cheddar Cheese
  • Bocconcini or another white or light coloured cheese
  • Black Olives

Directions

  1. Take two slices of bread and layer alternating chedder and bocconcini cheese to make a striped “bandage” pattern.
  2. Add two pieces of black olive as eyes.
  3. Toaste until the cheese is melted.
  4. Serve warm – for the ooey gooey cheese moment.

The Sloppy Jones team hopes you have a fun and safe Halloween – how ever you’re celebrating this year.
